Sopron stool

The “Sopron” chair was first presented by EuropaDesign Kft. at the Budapest Salon in autumn 2019, and later, on 9 October, by its designer, József Zalavári, DLA, a lecturer at the Institute of Applied Arts, as part of Sopron Design Week. According to the designer, the chair represents the realisation of a concept developed over many years and fits perfectly into the global trend of rocking chairs designed to promote healthy, active sitting.
The name pays tribute to the now-iconic Ulm stool, the “Ulmer Hocker”, designed in 1955 by Max Bill, then director of the Ulm School of Design (Hochschule für Gestaltung Ulm).

The metal version of the Sopron chair is manufactured by Stulwerk Kft.
